Product Description

The Nady 351 Ultra compact VR Wireless microphone system from Nady is the secret to producing professional sounding videotapes. Not only will the 351 VR dramatically improve the quality of your soundtracks, but it is so convenient and easy to use, you'll never want to use your camcorder without it! The Nady 351 VR eliminates the problems associated with camcorder onboard mics by allowing the microphone to be placed at the source of the sound where the action is. So even if you're shooting from 200' away, you still get clear, professional sounding audio with no interfering ambient noise. And thanks to Nady's Surface Mount Technology (SMT), the 351 VR receiver is ultra compact. Not much bigger than an audiocassette, it connects instantly to any video camera's external mic jack, and can be attached to the camcorder with velcro or worn on the body with the belt clip provided. Nady's newest, state-of-the-art microphone transmitters are standard with the 351 VR, with a choice of the Nady WHT-15 handheld or WLT-15 lavalier microphone bodypack transmitter. Both transmitters provide 16-20 hours of battery life from a single 9V alkaline, the longest battery operation available with any wireless on the market. The applications of the Nady 351VR wireless are many and varied: Parents can record their child's piano recital from the back of the auditorium and stillhear every note as it sounds onstage. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great microphone for the price!!, July 22, 2008
This review is from: Nady 351 Video Wireless Lavalier System, with 351VR Receiver, WLT 15 Lavalier Transmitter with Omni Condenser Mic & Audio Cable (Electronics)
I bought this microphone after I got one from Radio Shack (big mistake), the quality of this one is outstanding, very clear and super portable, I had to buy a mono to stereo adapter since the sound is only in one channel (you can correct this in production w the adapter you save some time), after I found the great quality built in this little device I returned the other one from RS (really bad). If you are looking for a good and portable mic for a tide budget this one is definitely it!!

4.0 out of 5 stars I give this Nady 351 a 2-thumbs up rating...., February 27, 2010
This review is from: Nady 351 Video Wireless Lavalier System, with 351VR Receiver, WLT 15 Lavalier Transmitter with Omni Condenser Mic & Audio Cable (Electronics)
Hello, I need to recant a bad review I gave this when I bought it some time ago. I'm not too smart and very cheap. I don't like buying batteries and the batteries I first placed into the device were old. To say the least, it worked terribly. So, dummy me, I put it on the shelf and forgot about it. Today I happened to run accross it and thought I'd give it another try. I put FRESH BATTERIES into it and it WORKED FINE.
CON: It seems kind of cheap and flimsy, but I'm not too tough on things, so I'm hoping it will give me a few years of good use. Go ahead and buy it.

I purchased these to use with my DSLR cameras the middle of last year. They worked really well initially, but they're cheap. I get some noise on them and if you move...at all, while wearing it, you'll get horrible scratchy feedback, even with a windscreen on the mic. But they work and they've done fine for most things.

In the future, I'll spend the $600 (or more) and get a decent quality wireless lav. I've used several less expensive ones and you will just not get the quality you need. I would never use these with a paying client. In the meantime, I'll keep them as a back up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Clone mic, great deal!, May 22, 2007
By
This review is from: Nady TCM-1050 Vacuum Tube Condenser Microphone with Case and Shock Mount (Electronics)
This is the same mic that is sold by Carvin, Apex, Etc. and before they modified it, Telefunken sold it as the M-16 for almost a thousand dollars more than the others. Came with a nice wooden box and had there name on it, but identical to the Apex model, google Apex 460 & telefunken M16 and you'll see comparisons done by experts declaring them exact equals.

Great sound out of the box, if you don't like it, just uppgrade the tube with a NOS 6027a JAN spec cyrogentically treated replacement and it will truly become unbelievable! For the $$ you can not go wrong!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Deal Even Though They Raised The Price..., October 11, 2009
This review is from: Nady TCM-1050 Vacuum Tube Condenser Microphone with Case and Shock Mount (Electronics)
I bought this wonderful tube mic from Amazon a couple months ago for only $140... even at the current price (over double of what I paid?) it's worth every penny!!! This thing sounds sweet, smooth & warm. As stated before in an earlier review, this is an Apex 460 in a different (better) brass housing with a better shockmount. The circuit is exactly the same between the two so all mods for the Apex 460 on the web apply to the Nady TCM-1050. The first thing to do is change out the cheap, fizzy-sounding Chinese 12AX7 tube for something with a little lower gain. A 12AY7/6072 (my choice) or 12AT7 will do wonders for this mic. Also, if your comfortable, remove the inner mesh & the sound of the mic opens up considerably.

BUY THIS NOW! To say you will be happy with your recordings with this tube mic is an understatement!

I purchased this for my daughter who plays a 6-string bass through a 350watt Fender Amp. It operates flawlessly - you can't tell the difference between it and a cable. She now has the ability to step of stage and interact with spectators while playing.

It was very easy to set up and 3 practices and 3 gigs - it's still on the same battery.
We highly recommend this product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Variable Hissing Noise on Every Channel, January 29, 2011
By
Hojat I Salehi (New York, NY United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Nady 16-Channel UHF Wireless System for Guitar and Bass (MGT-16A) (Electronics)
I own this item and have used it in conjuncetion with an Aria Sinsonido Nylon string guitar and an Ibanez Troubadour Amp. I really like the design and the small size, but this product ultimately let me down on functinality. Every note played is acompanied by a highly audible "hiss" which goes away when the strings are muted. I experimented for hours with changing transmission channels, as well transmitter, receiver and amp settings, and tried an assorment of long, short, regular and gold plated cables, but could not get rid of the "hissing" sound... Meanwhile, when I connected my guitar to the amp directly using any of the cables, I got crystal clear sound. It appears that this device is not capable of transmitting clear signals. This might be still do for playing loud and distorted power chords in a hard rock piece, but is certainly inadequate for finger picked Bossa Nova...

This is great! Had no feedback and allowed our church guitarist a great range to play in. We hope to go wireless on the rest of the band soon.
